Sociological studies show that young people in Denmark experience a high degree of climate anxiety, primarily coupled to a perception of the governments inaction on the matter and also their own experience of inability/lacking influence to change the grand circumstances themselves. The climate anxiety is a hopelessness.

To uncover ways of tackling this hopelessness I created the project "Mending the hopeless heart". Through mending fabrics that was in need of kindness and care, the same kindness was showered upon the hopeless heart. The symbolics of the heart was used in the project as a reminder of the connection between the hand and the heart. How we can feel the fabrics, sense our pulse, sense our ability to create and change circumstances.

Mending allows for the creativity of completely altering the fabrics, seeing something new come to life, and how we can change our perceptions around.
